THE MARK TWAIN HOUSE & MUSEUM CELEBRATES THE 2025 NOOK FARM WRITERS COLLABORATIVE

HARTFORD, Conn. (August 5, 2025) — The Mark Twain House & Museum proudly congratulates the talented young writers of the 2025 Nook Farm Writers Collaborative (NFWC) for completing a summer of creativity, collaboration, and literary exploration. This year’s program culminated in a dynamic public showcase and the publication of the Summer 2025 issue of Journey 75, the program’s literary magazine.

The Nook Farm Writers Collaborative is a summer creative writing apprenticeship for Connecticut students ages 14 to 18, inspired by Mark Twain’s legacy as a working writer who mastered a variety of genres to thrive in a challenging publishing world. Over the course of the summer, the students immersed themselves in workshops, explored dozens of forms and genres, wrote both individual and collaborative pieces, and learned directly from published authors, journalists, and even Oscar-nominated screenwriters.

The Mark Twain House & Museum extends heartfelt thanks to the dedicated teaching team — Victoria Nordlund and Jamie Pisacane — and to program coordinator Grace DiModugno for their tireless guidance and mentorship. Their expertise and encouragement helped foster a supportive and inspiring space for these emerging writers to discover and share their voices.

Now in its 12th summer, the Nook Farm Writers Collaborative continues to be a cornerstone of youth engagement at the museum. This year’s program was made possible thanks to the generous support of the Cornelia T. Bailey Foundation’s New Era Writers Program and an anonymous donor through the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving.

Audiences can read and listen to the 2025 participants’ work online at www.journey75.org and watch the culminating showcase on the museum’s YouTube channel: Watch Here.

As the 2025 cohort takes the next steps in their creative journeys, the Mark Twain House & Museum celebrates their accomplishments and looks forward to welcoming the next generation of Nook Farm voices.
