
THE MARK TWAIN HOUSE & MUSEUM RECEIVES $200,000 GRANT FROM THE HARTFORD FOUNDATION FOR PUBLIC GIVING

Hartford, Conn. — The Mark Twain House & Museum is honored to announce it has been awarded a $200,000 grant from the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving as part of the Foundation’s $6 million investment in arts and cultural organizations across Connecticut.
The funding will support the museum’s mission to preserve the historic home of Samuel Clemens (Mark Twain), engage diverse audiences through literary and educational programming, and strengthen its role as a cornerstone of Hartford’s cultural community.
“This generous support from the Hartford Foundation means more than just funding,” said Jeffrey L. Nichols, Executive Director of The Mark Twain House & Museum. “It ensures that our creative work, educational programs, and storytelling will continue to thrive—and that Twain’s legacy will remain vibrant for generations to come. We are deeply appreciative of this investment in our museum and in the cultural life of our state.”
