Join us for an evening with four distinguished faculty members/authors at Central Connecticut State University as they read from their works, some of them just published!, that relate in various ways to the troubling times we live in.

The evening will be moderated by Mary Collins, Professor of Creative Writing/Nonfiction at CCSU.

Admission is $10 for the general public. REGISTER HERE.

The evening will feature readings and discussions about the following topics with the following authors/faculty:

ENVIRONMENT

Award-winning Poet Sarah Strong’s new book, The Mouth of Earth (University of Nevada, 2020), explores ecological themes.

CLASS DIVIDE

CTLit Festival Founder Jotham Burrello set his new novel, Spindle City (Blackstone Books, 2020) in 19th Century Fall River, MA, then a manufacturing powerhouse. Class, immigration, gender, environment…. It’s all in there!

ACROSS GENERATIONS

We’ll close with a father/son exchanging poems across the generational divide and across ten of thousands of miles in Penultimate Human Constellation (Tolsun Books, 2018).

Programs at The Mark Twain House & Museum are made possible in part by support from the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development, Office of the Arts, and the Greater Hartford Arts Council’s United Arts Campaign and its Travelers Arts Impact Grant program, with major support from The Travelers Foundation.
