As The Mark Twain House & Museum marks 90 years since its founding, we celebrate Hartford’s history and the writers, then and now, who have carried on the literary traditions of Twain and Harriet Beecher Stowe. We look back to 1929, when a forward-thinking group of Hartford residents formed the Mark Twain Commission to save the venerable homestead from demolition. Today, we commemorate the past 90 years with our exhibition, Twain’s Attic: 90 Years, 90 Treasures. We focus our gala on the writers who now help make Hartford the great city it is and writers inspired by Twain and Stowe.  In keeping the true spirit of Twain alive, we invite you to look back to 1929 and dress in your favorite Roaring Twenties style!

The gala will be held at The Goodwin Hotel, 1 Haynes St., Hartford.
