Join us on Connecticut Open House Day, Saturday June 8, for Tom Sawyer Day, our annual family event, featuring free music, games, and a new twist on an old story, The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County.This year from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. robotic frogs will compete in races. Contestants will be sorted by age groups.
Music entertainment will be provided by The Riverboat Ramblers, Horizon Blue, and Accidental Groove and DFX Entertainment. LLC Dancers demonstrate the dance styles of the 1930s through today.
Meet Tom Sawyer (Michael Hark) and Becky Thatcher (Elaina Dyke) characters, and see an interactive skit about the Clemens’s family love of animals presented by The Mark Twain House Living History Characters.
There will be stained glass demonstrations, arts and crafts activities, and an art exhibit of the most frog-like of the robot entries.
Discounted house tours will be offered at $12 for adults, $7 for children. Hartford residents may tour the house for free, courtesy of The Hartford.
