Amy Siskind, author of THE LIST: A WEEK-BY-WEEK RECKONING of TRUMP’S FIRST YEAR, began keeping track of events she calls “not normal” shortly after Donald Trump was elected president. What began as social media posts for close friends soon turned into a viral sensation. It began with six items and ballooned to more than 100 per week and it has turned into a full-time occupation.
Each installment of the list begins: “Experts in authoritarianism advise to keep a list of things subtly changing around you, so you’ll remember.”
Siskind is president and co-founder of The New Agenda, a national organization working on issues such as economic independence and advancement, gender representation and bias, sexual assault, and domestic violence.
Join us for a lively discussion of politics, the presidency, and propaganda.
