Jarrett Krosoczka will present Hey, Kiddo, his critically acclaimed young adult memoir. The new book is a departure from Krosoczka’s popular Lunch Lady graphic novel series and the Platypus Police Squad chapter book series. Hey, Kiddo is a personal story presented as a graphic memoir. Krosoczka wrote and illustrated the new book.

Krosoczka, who grew up in Worcester, Massachusetts, depended on his grandparents as his mother battled a heroin addiction. He did not know his father. His mother died in 2017, as Krosoczka was writing his memoir.

Hey, Kiddo is included in the list of 10 books being considered for the 2018 Young People’s Literature category of the National Book Awards.

Krosoczka will be joined on stage by Lisa Yee, winner of the Sid Fleishman Award for Humor, to discuss writing, children’s literature, and the saving power of creativity.

A copy of the book is included with your ticket. Admission is $20 for hardcover book, and $15 for paperback version.
