Help us celebrate Mark Twain’s birthday with special guest speaker, Pulitzer Prize winning novelist and playwright, Ayad Akhtar. He will sit down with Azar Nafisi, the critically acclaimed author of Reading Lolita in Tehran, to discuss his novel Homeland Elegies and how they both have been influenced by the writings of Mark Twain.
Akhtar will be discussing his new, highly acclaimed novel HOMELAND ELEGIES, recently named one of the Best Books of 2020 by the New York Times, Washington Post and TIME Magazine. In the novel, memoir and fiction collide when a Pakistani-American father and son confront their differences in a post-9/11 America.
