Pulitzer Prize-winning biographer Ron Chernow illuminates the full, fascinating, and complex life of the writer long celebrated as the father of American literature, Mark Twain. Chernow will be in conversation about the book, sharing insights into his research and the process of writing this monumental biography.

Ron Chernow will be in conversation with Lawrence Howe, Professor emeritus of English and Film Studies at Roosevelt University.  He is the author of Mark Twain and the Novel: the Double-Cross of Authority (Cambridge UP) and co-edited and contributed to Mark Twain and Money (U of Alabama Press) and Refocusing Chaplin: A Screen Icon through Critical Lenses (Scarecrow Press).  A former president of the Mark Twain Circle of America, Howe is on the advisory board of The Mark Twain Annual and is editor emeritus of Studies in American Humor. He was the Fulbright Distinguished Chair in American Studies at the University of Southern Denmark and has lectured throughout Europe and North America on topics in American culture, especially Mark Twain.

The main event will take place across the street at Immanuel Congregational Church, located at 10 Woodland Street. Please take care while crossing the street.

Parking:

Free parking at the Mark Twain House main parking lot at 385 Farmington Avenue.

Additional free parking is available at the medical building at 19 Woodland Street.

Limited parking at the church is reserved for those with limited mobility.
