Join us on Connecticut Open House Day 2018 for Tom Sawyer Day, our annual family event! Mark Twain wrote The Adventures of Tom Sawyer, published in 1876, when he lived with his family in Hartford.

We’ll have arts and crafts and Victorian games, including croquet on the lawn.

Music provided by the Riverboat Ramblers, Horizon Blue, and Kids In Tune.

Family-friendly events include a frog demonstration by the Children’s Museum in the auditorium at 11 am and mask making in the Carriage Barn.

Light food and refreshments will be available for purchase at our Nook Cafe.

Our living history characters will perform skits through the day on the Ombra (porch) at the Twain House. Special appearance by Tom Sawyer and Becky Thatcher! Special discounts on house tours on June 9 are available.

No registration required! Bring the family and head on down to the Mark Twain House and help us celebrate one of America’s most well-known literary characters.

Tom Sawyer Day is sponsored by Farmington Bank Community Foundation and the Evelyn W. Preston Memorial Trust Fund, Bank of America, N.A., Trustee.
