“Life and Death” Print

This Currier & Ives Victorian print, “Life and Death” was a favorite of the Clemens children. It hangs in the schoolroom in Mark Twain’s Hartford, CT home, where his three daughters were raised and home schooled. Look up close–it captures a boy and a girl in a window–but held at a distance, one sees a human skull.
