On Saturday, October 8, the classic Italian art of commedia dell’arte gets a modern twist for family audiences at The Mark Twain House & Museum.
Starting at 2:00 p.m., the troupe COMMEDIA MANIA will provide a show of masks, laughs, slapstick, and shameless theatrical nonsense.
This energetic comic troupe performs traditional stories and sendups of timeless pieces. Along with bringing its performers’ zany antics to the museum, COMMEDIA MANIA will put its own spin on several Twain classics.
The event also provides education of the enjoyable kind: Audience members will learn the basics of commedia movement with the troupe so they can put on their own shows at home.
Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children. To reserve, call 860-247-0998 or go to www.marktwainhouse.org, click on “Events,” and follow the ticketing link from the event listing. Or click here.
Family Programs at The Mark Twain House & Museum are sponsored by The Hartford.
