Personal Essay with Susan Campbell

Everyone has a story that needs to be told, and in this four week personal essay course, you’ll learn to tell yours. Led by Susan Campbell, the class will explore dramatic arc, narrative story-telling, and writing with a voice.

This course takes place on Friday evenings, 6PM  – 8:30PM EST May 13, May 20, May 27, and June 3.

Susan Campbell is a distinguished lecturer at the University of New Haven, where she teaches communication law and journalism. She is an award-winning journalist, essayist, and author of three books.

Look Who’s Talking

Point of View, Narrative Voice, and Natural Dialogue

Spend time with author Jon Clinch considering factors crucial to establishing credibility and trust between the writer and the reader: choosing the right point of view, establishing a narrative voice, and bringing characters to life through speech that sounds real, not artificial. Ticket price is $70.

This two-day workshop takes place from 2 – 3:30 PM EST on Saturday, July 9 and Sunday, July 10.
