We are excited to hear that Dr. Briann G. Greenfield will become executive director of the Harriet Beecher Stowe Center on June 18.
Stowe was the more famous writer when Samuel Clemens moved in next door in the 1870s. They were cordial neighbors for 20 years, and decades later, Katharine Seymour Day, who lived in her great aunt Harriet’s house and started what is now the Stowe Center, also spearheaded the restoration of the Twain House.
We look forward to many more adventures and collaborations with our great neighbors across the lawn.
