The Mark Twain House & Museum is once again participating in the Travelers Championship Birdies for Charity program. Launched in 2004, Birdies for Charity provides every 501(c)(3) in Connecticut an opportunity to raise awareness for its cause. The program is a giving platform that utilizes the excitement around the golf tournament to help nonprofits in communities across the region raise awareness and funds to support their missions. The Travelers Championship sends 100% of collected donations to the participating charities. In addition, every dollar raised is boosted by 15%, with no costs or fees.
Money raised during Birdies for Charity will be used to expand the Mark Twain House education outreach programs in the Hartford area, and to cover maintenance and upkeep costs to preserve the house itself.
Donations must be made through the Mark Twain House portal on the Birdies for Charity web site in order to qualify for the 15% boost.
The Mark Twain House has set a goal of $25,000 for this year’s Birdies for Charity. Donations are being accepted through June 24.
