The Mark Twain House & Museum is again sponsoring the Hartford Creative Contest in 2019. 2019 is the fourth year of the contest. The contest offers Hartford students in grades 4-12 the opportunity to express themselves on a theme in essay writing, poetry, and visual art.

Prizes are awarded to the top three entries in each discipline. All work will be evaluated on content, creativity and originality. Entries in each discipline will be divided into three sub-categories: Grades 4-6, grades 7-19, and grades 10-12. The overall winner of the contest will receive a $500 cash prize. This year’s topics for the contest are “My Hartford Neighborhood” and “If I were Mayor of Hartford, I’d…”

All entries must be received by January 25, 2019. The awards ceremony will take place on May 4 at Asylum Hill Congregational Church in Hartford.

The Mark Twain House & Museum joins Mothers United Against Violence, Step Up Step Out (SUSO), and Beckett Law Group, as sponsors of the Hartford Creative Contest.
