The Mark Twain House & Museum was in the news over the past few days in coverage about our new Director of Collections, our Mark Twain Birthday Lecture, and a destination tour story.
Jodi C. DeBruyne is our new Beatrice Fox Auerbach Director of Collections. She is Director of Collections at the Abbe Museum in Bar Harbor, Maine.
“I am thrilled to be joining the team at The Mark Twain House & Museum,” DeBruyne says. “I am looking forward to the opportunity to combine my personal love of literature and history with my professional passion for museum collections and curation.”
The announcement story is in The Hartford Courant and Metro Hartford Alliance.
Former New Yorker Cartoon Editor Bob Mankoff gave the Mark Twain Birthday Lecture. Ron Charles, book writer for The Washington Post, mentioned the event in his Book Club roundup.
Mankoff joined the cake and champagne celebration after the talk, and signed copies of his memoir, How About Never–Is Never Good for You?: My Life in Cartoons.
Steve Pfarrer, staff writer for the Daily Hampshire Gazette, took a Living History tour and wrote about it for his newspaper.
Thanks for the coverage.
