Michael L. Campbell is the new Chief Financial Officer of The Mark Twain House & Museum.
Campbell has worked in the nonprofit world for more than 30 years. He was Director of Finance and Operations at the Connecticut Quality Council for Rensselaer at Hartford, Executive Director of the Hartford Children’s Theatre and SummerWind Performing Arts Center, and National Development Director of the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps.
He was also Chief of Staff for the Girls Scouts of Connecticut and, for the last four years, was the principal of Campbell Consulting where he worked with cultural, heritage and arts organizations in the areas of executive management, strategic development, finance and organizational management.

Campbell is an historic interpreter at The Mark Twain House & Museum, serves on the board of directors for the Edward C. and Ann T. Roberts Foundation, and runs the International Exchange Program for the U.S. Naval Sea Cadet Corps.
Campbell is a graduate of Saint Anselm College. He resides in Canton with his wife, Rie Poirer-Campbell, Executive Director of Hartford Performs.
He succeeds Deborah Cohen and begins his new job October 9.
